Based on the project The music will not be broadcast for Deutschlandradio, Brandon LaBelle gives a workshop in which he collects the audible traces of dancing bodies. Music serves as a stimulus for movement. However, one won’t hear the deep bass or the hammering beats in the space; instead, only the sound of moving bodies will be audible. Precisely, this material will then be recorded to form “acoustic portraits,” allowing participants to configure their own sonic choreographies. The workshop opens up to the dynamics of embodied expression, creating “sonic bodies” that seem to come to life through sound and space, movement and listening.
